The Best Homemade Biscuits You’ll Ever Have

These biscuits are my most favorite thing to make when I have unexpected company, or I’m making a big pot of soup, or it’s a crappy rainy/snowy day like yesterday and I need something super yum-o. I love them so much because I always have all of the ingredients in the house and they take maybe 20 minutes to make from mixing the ingredients to smearing some jam on a warm golden-brown biscuit right out of the oven.

2/3 C white whole wheat flour*
1 TBL baking powder
1/2 Tsp salt
2/3 C milk
1/3 C olive oil*

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 475 degrees F. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and oil. Then combine both mixtures and stir until everything is wet. No need to over mix. Place teaspoon-sized batter on a cookie sheet 1/2-inch apart (I always use parchment or foil so the biscuits do not stick.). Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden. Enjoy!

*You may substitute all-purpose flour instead of white whole wheat flour
*Canola oil works just as well too

The photos above are of two batches of biscuits. I normally make just one when it’s only Daryle and me.
