We try to make the most of our short weekends together as a family. With Daryle working full-time and then DJing on the weekends, Sunday is our day for family time and adventures. My parents’ favorite local band, The 19th Street Band was playing at a pumpkin farm festival way out in Stafford County, VA (48 miles away!). The air was crisp with glorious blue skies so we easily loaded up the car and headed south on 95 for a day outside. We acted like lunatic paparazzi documenting Jack’s every move in the pumpkin patch. Daryle with the camera, me with the video camera. I think we got the shot (and about a million more). We really must look crazy calling to Jack in high and low pitches, snapping our fingers to get him to look. hahaha. We had a lot of fun. The band sounded good and played all of our favorite songs. Jack got to look at baby piglets and two lamas. He played in the hay and even tried to eat it (that wouldn’t have been good!). My mom and stepdad got lots of snuggles in too. It was a perfect afternoon. Happy Fall.

  1. I have two young kids and can totally relate to trying to make the most of your short weekends. We try to get out of the house as much as possible simply to avoid the time-evaporating qualities of the television and computer! Looks like you had a great time.
