Daryle and I spent a recent date night at the new Washington Nationals Stadium for a friend’s birthday. On the most gorgeous evening, we sipped Bud from tin bottles and eyed the game as I caught up with friends. The the sun set, turning the sky a pinkish shade of blue and the new stadium sparkled — it’s so clean and beautiful and is the first fully LEED certified baseball stadium in the country. Set along the Anacostia River, it’s an area of DC that I hadn’t visited much at all. The neighborhood is full of new buildings and highrises. There’s a bridge overlooking the river for visitors can walk across. We had such a pleasant time. Beer, burgers and baseball, that good ole American kind of evening never gets old.
