Keeping with the ocean theme, I came across these ethereal paintings of beach scenes. The artist, Isca Greenfield-Sanders finds her inspiration from found vintage slides. On the canvas she carefully creates a grid for which to paint by—but leaves just a trace for the viewer to see. These images evoke a curious nature, leaving one to imagine when the people existed and what their lives were like. The show is called The Ocean Between and can be viewed at Haunch of Venison Gallery in New York, through April 23rd.
