Here’s wishing you the happiest Thanksgiving with family and friends. It’s cloudy here in Washington, and should carry through the rest if the day. My sister flew all the way from Paris and Daryle’s sister and her kids from Buffalo are joining my mom, step dad, brother, Daryle and me.
This photo was taken 9,000 feet above sea level at Mt. Haleakala in Maui this August. Daryle and I left our hotel at 2 a.m. and drove hours, zig-zagging up and up and up the mountain, until we reached the top. There we stood in total darkness awaiting the rise of the sun. Sure enough it peaked through lighting our faces, the clouds, the sky and then all the world. It was a profound moment, viewing the world from that height, experiencing the very first moments of day light, showing you how beautiful it is to be alive.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
