Happy Friday! Tonight I’m hitting the town for Daryle’s new DJ night called Vaqueros Electricos at the spankin’ new spot, Dodge City right next to Red Velvet on U Street. The name Dodge City comes from the 1988 song called “DC Don’t Stand for Dodge City” by the group The Go Go Posse. If you’ve lived in DC for sometime now, you may remember the space under the name, Kingpin which was a great little dive bar with some killer DJ nights. The new owner, Abdul has revitalized the space and invited a core group of DJs, D-Mac included to heat the place up. Daryle will be throwing down DC-classic Go-Go, digi-Cumbia, Funk and Hip Hop. I’m particularly looking forward to the big bass sounds of Cumbia. I may even bust a couple of Zumba moves on the dance-floor. Hope to see you there!
