On Friday, the Third of July, my friends and I gathered for a picnic in front of the Capitol to watch the dress rehearsal for the Fourth of July on The Mall. Aretha Franklin sang the Star Spangled Banner and R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Barry Manilow sang Copacabana, The Jersey Boys sang Frankie Valli hits and Big Bird from Sesame Street was there too. An all ’round blast full of good American fun. Hope you had a fun Third of July too!
