John Wesley - Mexican Movie

John Wesley - Missouri Compromise

John Wesley - QE2

John Wesley - Nail Police

Much to my delight, I saw on designboom that a retrospective of John Wesley‘s work is being held in Venice at Fondazione Prada. I first saw Wesley’s paintings while living in New York at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Museum in 2000. Time flies, but I have never forgotten his flat choice of background color and quirky images of fleshy skin-toned figures.

It would be so fun to visit Venice, wouldn’t it?
